about

A successful photograph reveals some truth about the subject, some character strength or emotional nuance – something neither subject nor photographer are necessarily aware of until the process of picture-making has had its way with both of them. Andrew doesn’t make a portrait himself – There are three perspectives in the room the moment the picture is made: The photographer’s, the subject’s and the camera’s. The three of them make the portrait together.

Andrew has worked throughout Europe, North America and Asia on various portraiture and environmental documentary projects. He specialises in hand-crafted, individualised portraiture and photographic storytelling and is always looking forward to the next adventure, be it big or small. Andrew was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and is currently based in Vienna, Austria. He is available for hire wherever a plane, train, ship, rickshaw or his own legs can take him.
